Crying Gigi Says No More
Gigi Leung was in Ruijin City, Jiangxi Province, as an ambassador of Unicef. She will be working to help the “children in need” for a week as child ambassador. Gigi revealed that the 10-hour long bus journey was no problem, as she could tolerate it. Apart from the mobile toilets, she also brought some old stationery for the local children.
Gigi told reporters that she will not cry this time even when seeing how bad the living conditions are. She remembered, from her last visit, that she was so upset and cried when she saw a baby with hydrocephalus (fluids in the brain). She was so shocked. The reporter asked her if she had offered any help to the baby. Gigi said, 2 years ago, there was a girl whose spine was “S”-shaped and needing surgery, but the family could not afford the fees. She and another person paid the hospital fees (over 10,000 HKD) for that family. She said, “That girl made a full recovery.”
