Cows On the Couch

We are watching Cougar Town Season 2 already – I thought we were still at Season 1 – for those of you who don’t know about this show – it has Courtney Cox from TV Sitcom “Friends” in it.  She still looked as good as she was when she was in Friends – I bet she uses the best wrinkle treatment – now if only I can asked her where and what she uses or where she goes too.

In Cougar Town she plays a mother of a teenage son – who just went into college – therefore – it can be quite unbelieveable – because she certainly doesn’t look old enough to be a mother – so you see what i mean about the wrinkle treatment ?  hahaha!!  Now if i looked so good when my kids goes to college – I would really be the happiest woman alive!  Anyhow Cougar Town is a funny sitcom – and cannot be taken seriously.  Ally the best friend – is also kinda weird – but we watch this show to put the kids to bed – hahah!

I lived in a fishing community – most of my neighbors are fishermen – and yes – they make a lot of money during the fishing season – and when I first arrived in Nova Scotia – I was told that the fishermen were never refused a loan from the bank – because of the money they can bring in.   When they are not fishing – they will be on unemployment – which also means money for himself and his entire family.  But being a fishermen is not without any risk – in fact the job is hard and the weather in December when fishing starts – can be very rough most times.  These people needs an  offshore injury lawyer but of course – they don`t.

A month ago, there was a scallop dragger in the Bay of Fundy that went missing for days – when they finally announced the names of the missing people and the search ended – the military officials said that there was no chance anyone could have survived.  3 men went missing – 2 were ony 25 years old – very young and even though I don`t know them – I feel for their family.    Are they being compensated properly?  are they represented properly?  what about their family?  their aged parents perhaps?  their kids?  their wives?  their homes?  So when they showed more of the story a month after this happened – I once again wished these fishermen have someone to help them.

The picture on the cover of the movie made Queen Latifah skinner than she really was in the movie but nevertheless – she is very good in the show.  And when I started watching the show – it sure said a lot about ladies like us.  Queen Latifah said it all in this movie – that men – whether famous or not – they still want a beautiful woman first and only settle for the second best when they can’t have the pretty woman.  Whether the pretty woman is a bitch or spoil or just awfully terrible – or a scheming B.I.T.C.H.  Yes! that’s men for you! hahah!

So Queen Latifah is a physio – and she fell for a basketball player – but her friend aka god sister – schemed and got the basketball player instead.  The scheming god sister just wanna be reach and famous and when the basketball player aka blind fella injured himself in a game – and his career was at stake – pretty woman left him.  Very good show – and definitely must watch with the boyfriend or the husband who has a roving eye – maybe he will learn a thing or two eh?  but in real life – we all know that the famous and rich only goes for the beauty too.  Common  -  Chicago-bred rapper plays Scott McKnight and Paula Patton plays the pretty but scheming B.I.T.C.H.

So what do you do when you go for a movie with a pregnant girlfriend?  Funny question right?  but really is going to a movies with a non-pregnant girlfriend the same?  well not really – besides her telling you how excited she is about having the baby and what food she is eating and her rainbow light prenatal system – expect lots of trip to the washroom – if she is really pregnant.  You will be missing lots of parts – that’s for sure  – coz’ you are not gonna let your preggy girlfriend go to the washroom on her own right?  Certainly not!   But yes ! if she wants to talk about her prenatal vitamins or  how much she paid for her vitamins – or whatever kind of food – like bird’s nest – just amused her – coz’ a preggy girlfriend can be really emotional too.  But have fun! of course and make sure – you drive carefully and let your preggy g/f rest a lot while you are out.

Sneak peek for desperate housewives season 7 episode 4 – The Things That Counts Is What Inside.  Sounds really interesting right? just finished watching it – and it was really good.  But not all happy ending.  Gabbie got to see her real daughter – and no need a DNA to be sure that she belongs to Gabbie – hahah!! watch the show  – and you will know what I mean.

A pretty solid episode with some storylines clearly standing out. While there was drama in the episode, for me it was the comedy that I found myself more invested in. The writers have done a great job in making Vanessa Williams not seem forced in the ensemble, yet still have some great moments.

Inside Impluse

While the spouse and children eat popcorn when they watch a movie and tv show – me and my Asian friends craved for fish balls on a stick and satay.   Yes! what a really bad habit – I know that – we know that – but we just love our solid food – and guess what we need after eating all these junk food ?  we feel so guilty and we have to take our hoodia diet pills else – I can’t face myself  the next week.   What do you have for snacks?  when you watch a movie?  I hope healthy ones?  but I can’t seems to find any healthy snacks except popcorn but I never do like popcorn – chips yes ! but not popcorn.  But no matter what I do after snacking – I can’t lose the weight – so help is always needed in my case – plus I do love my food – especially fish balls on a stick.

When Movie Gallery closed its door a few months ago, the local movie store – a locally owned business – tried to get their barcode scanner and upgrade their movie store.  But they were luck out and didn’t get to buy the  barcode scanner didn’t because they were asking for an arm and a leg for it.  So the local movie store is currently looking for another scanner – because having their inventory all updated in the computer thru’ that scanner would be a lot easier in the future – so I was told.  I hope they get the model and the right price for the scanner soon – because like all movie stores – they really need to be computerized instead of doing everything manually.  I can’t wait to see the new changes.
