The spouse had a meeting at the Westin Hotel Convention Centre a few weeks ago – and I tagged a long with him – so that I can have free accommodation but I had to do some conference call services reviews for him because he didn’t want to use their conference calls facility as they were rather expensive.   But we all know that the hotels charges an arm and a leg for anything done there, so in order to save some money – I decided to read up on some reviews.  Gone are the days – where people have to depend on the secretariat services in the hotel – because we are smarter consumers now.   Conference call services are cheap as 2.4 cents a minute – as compared to $1.20 minute – so which one would you choose right?   Anyhow, I just wanted to let everyone know that you don’t have to use the hotels  conference call services  if you choose not too – they cannot force you to.

So I just finished watching Switched At Birth and had nothing else to watch – and I went looking for a new tv sitcom to watch and found Drop Dead Diva – and guess what I loved it! and those of you who haven’t heard of Drop Dead Diva – you’ve gotta watch it – it’s awesome!

Brooke Elliot plays the wanna be model – but got into a car accident before she even got to become one.  But wait a minute – she didn’t really died – well tehcnically she did – but she came back into another person’s body – Jane’s a lawyer who is fat – and very insecure even though she was very smart.  But Brooke who was actually Deb wasn’t a bad person either – but a bit shallow – who had this awesome boyfriend Greyson – also a lawyer landed up with a job at Jane’s law firm – what a coincidence and corny right – but we all loved corny.  So the story begins -  and I loved it.  Check out the sneak peek – and you might get as interested as I did. Oh Margaret Cho is in this show – gotta be good right?

You never know what you can learn on tv – my grandmother used to say – and she didn’t like us anywhere near the tv I remembered when she was babysitting us.  But it was thru’ the show Pawn Stars that I found out about patina – and about vintage looking things – and its value.  So whenever I go on Etsy and see something like this vintage pewter sugar bowl and creamer – I cannot helped but looked at it more closely.  So when parents blame their kid’s friends when their child does something bad – well – we can be wrong on that – because it isn’t the friend’s fault or the company he keeps – it’s the individual kid – who wants to be influence – the good way or the bad – just like the tv shows we watched.  We all loved our kids – and we find it so much easier to blame other people ‘s kid for our own’s wrong doing – but really – is it fair?  Nah ! i don’t think so – if your kid wants to smoke and take drugs – he or she chose to – not because of the another person – no one can force anyone to do anything he or she doesn’t want.

Fans of survivor – the show – like my extended family will be glad to know that the South Pacific series starts in September this year.  I’ve watched a few seasons of it – but stopped after a bit – but the extended family of ours kept at it religiously – they even have it recorded to watch it when they are away for holidays.  I heard that this season will have a lot of different things in store – and the ladies are dressed up in  camo panties in one show – now that is to be watched out for.  2 casts members are returning in this season – and lets hope it isn’t like the twist they had during the last season Redemption island.  But I’m sure you will be enjoying some really awesome things in South Pacific series at the end of September.

I started watching Rookie Blues not too long ago – and already it is in Season 2 – but currently am up to date with the show – and for those of you who are not familiar with Rookie Blue – you should watch it – it’s an excellent tv show.  Not only did I learn a lot about what cops do – I also learned about the many things they are knowledgeable about – from the law, to picking locks and doors and even  atv winches for checking out vehicles that are in accident or impounded.  So for those of you who thinks that the men and ladies in blue are pretty useless – you should watch this and amazed yourself with how skilled they actually are – and how dangerous their job can get too.  Charlotte Sullivan who plays Gail Peck is by far the prettiest amount the lot – but the show focus on Andy McNally played by Missy Peregrym – who looks a bit like Hilary Swank and for the Canadians out there – you should be proud of Missy Peregrym – because she was born in Montreal Quebec.  And the guys in the show – that I liked most is Ben Bass who plays Sam Swarek – although Callahan used to be my favorite – he no longer is – for he cheated on McNally – I hate cheaters.  Anyhow – check out this awesome tv show yourself.

A bizarre turn in Amy Winehouse’s life – I never really followed her news – but know her as someone – who breaks all the rules and into drugs and alcohol big time.  It was not so long ago – when I had read that she wanted to adopt a 10 yrs old and I had shook my head in disbelieved.  How can someone like her – want to adopt anyone – especially when her own life is screwed.  Only 27 years old – what a waste of life !   According to the young girl – it was the worst thing that had happened to her life – but I wonder what would she turned out to be – if she had gone to London to live with Amy Winehouse – I for one wouldn’t want my daughter to be in her care.  Sorry Amy!

Lots of goodies from Reitmans of late – and I just realized that this is the week that I could make use of my $25 discount count for a purchase of $75 and above – so I had to get something right for the fall.  What I like about Reitman is their stuff are pretty fashionable and they cater to not only the petite – but the bigger size woman and the normal size woman.  So whatever your size – you can shop at Rietmans – plus the return policy is definitely more flexible even though I rarely return anything – it’s good to know.  Wonder how I got my $25 discount card?  I bought some clothings for $50 and above just when summer started – and that was how.  I did spend some more money today – more than $75 but it was worth it.  I like the clothes I picked out.  Will post real pictures later  – it’s almost midnite and I’m famished.

We recently received a wedding invite to a friend’s wedding this fall and was amused and impressed by their special invite.  A invite for any occasion is so important – and can sometimes play a very important part in us making a decision to attend the occasion or not.  Lets think about it – if you get an invite that was done without any detail at all – won’t you think that the party isn’t going to be something you would enjoy?  To me an invite is very important – it shows me how important the party is to the host – therefore, our yearly  Christmas Party Invitations are carefully selected and ordered way in advance – of course one have to send it out on time  – giving ample notice to the invitees to make plans – reschedule for babysitters etc.   So if I was invited to a Christmas party without a proper invitation card – I would never go – because there is only 2 reasons to it – first one – you weren’t in the list – and the second reason – has gotta be a random party – meaning random people will turn up – not going to be a tasteful party.  So folks – don’t forget to get your invites right – don’t make your friends think that they are not important.  Just my 2 cents worth.

I didn’t think that I would enjoy this show – because it’s more a teen show – but it turned out pretty good.  This show reminds me of the Beauty and The Beast – but a modern day on.  Alex Pettyfer plays Kyle – the ignorant and obnoxious teen – who was turned into a ugly looking monster by Mary Kate Olsen – who supposedly is the witch.  Kyle needs to find true love or else – he would stay ugly and hideous.  Vanessa Hudgens plays the plain but kind hearted Lindy who has her own set of troubles as well with her family – but did she fall in love with Kyle?  Fairy tales always ends with happy endings  -  a hint for you.
