personaleffects

At first glance I had thought that this was a thriller – and how can one go wrong with Michelle Pfeffier right?  and handsome boy – Ashton Kutcher – so how can you go wrong right?  Anyhow I watched this last nite and it’s more a family movie – but not for young kids though – some love making scene but not explicit.  It’s about a 2 mothers struggling with a death in the family and Michelle – getting invovled with Aston Kutcher – who is so much younger than her.   Michelle’s son who is challenged finds help from Ashton Kuctcher who plays Walter.  It’s not bad but not what i expected.

Walter, 24, is a wrestler, competing for a spot on the national team when he learns of his sister’s brutal death. He comes home to help his mother; he works out, takes a dead-end job, and goes to the trial of the accused murderer. He becomes friends with Linda, her husband murdered; she’s raising a teen son, Clay, who’s deaf. Walter gets Clay into wrestling. He accompanies Linda to events at a center where she works. He sees her at the courthouse. They wait for verdicts. Walter’s mother takes her daughter’s things to a rummage sale. Clay has his father’s pistol. How will grief express itself?

nannyinsanity

Nanny Insanity is a very funny show – but it also proofs that there are desperate mother like myself who are good hearted and would do just about anything for another person.  I love the foreign accent of the nanny – too funny and the funniest part was when the nanny sent for her mother to come to USA and they hid her in the house and what a hilarious situation when they thought that she was dying of heart attack.  The nanny sure didn’t look like a nanny and her character was overly dramatic if you ask me.  This show is a can watch but don’t expect spectacular acting or even a moral in the storyline.

Cynthia Preston and Larry Dorf star as Marsha and David McMillan, an overwhelmed young suburban couple about to have their first baby. But when they decide to hire an experience housekeeper they instead win up with Ukrainian free-spirit Sophia Petrenko who soon begins secretly inviting her family from the old country to move into her new home. With half of Kiev now hiding in their kitchen, can anything save the McMillan’s from their live-in help? Nanny Insanity is a zany comedy – actually based on a true story, if you can believe that – about domestic imports, strange relatives, and a house gone crazy with, you guessed it, Nanny Insanity.

echelon-conspiracy

I had thought that this show was something like the tv series 24 but nope – it was more a thriller/drama.  Not a bad show but quite confusing and the ending well – lets just say wasn’t something I enjoyed.  But nevertheless a movie that can be watched with the entire family.

Max Peterson is a globe-trotting techno-whiz who installs security systems on computers. In the Czech Republic he receives an anonymous gift: a phone which sends messages that enable him to win at a casino. Max soon finds himself pursed by hit men, the casino’s security chief, and a CIA operative. Who’s sending Max messages? Previous recipients of similar windfalls have ended up dead. After a couple of close scrapes, Max realizes he’s in danger, so he tries to find out the root of the conspiracy – which seems to have access to every security camera in the world – before he’s the next victim. Why is this happening to him, and who can he trust?

TheStepfather

Stepfather is a movie about a man – Dylan Walsh from Nip/Tuck and Sela Ward who acts as Susan who is a mother of 3 kids recently divorced and bumped into Dylan Walsh in the supermarket and became fast friends and of course – Dylan Walsh is not what he appears to be.  Slowly the truth creeps up and when he can no longer contain his real identity – Dylan Walsh decided it was time to kill the entire new family – not like this was his first time.  But Michael from Gossip Girls fame was the ultimate hero of the entire show.

Michael returns home from military school to find his mother happily in love and living with her new boyfriend. As the two men get to know each other, he becomes more and more suspicious of the man who is always there with a helpful hand.

I had kinda expected a different type of movie – but this movie is more of a revenge of a father and husband whose wife and daughter were killed in front of him – i think his wife was also rape if i am not wrong.  But instead of just going after the real killer – Clyde Shelton went after the whole system and proofed to them how wrong the system is.  A pretty cool movie – even the spouse liked it.

Clyde Shelton is an upstanding family man whose wife and daughter are brutally murdered during a home invasion. When the killers are caught, Nick Rice, a hotshot young Philadelphia prosecutor, is assigned to the case. Over his objections, Nick is forced by his boss to offer one of the suspects a light sentence in exchange for testifying against his accomplice. Fast forward ten years. The man who got away with murder is found dead and Clyde Shelton coolly admits his guilt. Then he issues a warning to Nick: Either fix the flawed justice system that failed his family, or key players in the trial will die. Soon Shelton follows through on his threats, orchestrating from his jail cell a string of spectacularly diabolical assassinations that can be neither predicted nor prevented. Philadelphia is gripped with fear as Shelton’s high-profile targets are slain one after another and the authorities are powerless to halt his reign of terror. Only Nick can stop the killing, and to do so he must outwit this brilliant sociopath in a harrowing contest of wills in which even the smallest misstep means death. With his own family now in Shelton’s crosshairs, Nick finds himself in a desperate race against time facing a deadly adversary who seems always to be one step ahead.

thebox

The Box is definitely a very strange movie – set in the 80s  perhaps?  It was  not frightening by any means except that the man who delivered the million dollar box was awful and unsightly.  But it’s a tempt of fate and will to resist being greedy?  but having said that who could resist a million dollars right?  is a human being’s life worth that million dollars you are going to pocket? ok more a morality show i think but there was more to it – it had to do with some government body crazy idea of keeping track of ppl?  Yes can watch but a might boring show if you asked me.

Norma and Arthur Lewis, a suburban couple with a young child, receive a simple wooden box as a gift, which bears fatal and irrevocable consequences. A mysterious stranger, delivers the message that the box promises to bestow upon its owner $1 million with the press of a button. But, pressing this button will simultaneously cause the death of another human being somewhere in the world; someone they don’t know. With just 24 hours to have the box in their possession, Norma and Arthur find themselves in the cross-hairs of a startling moral dilemma and must face the true nature of their humanity.

mylifeinruins

At first I thought this show was just talking about Nia Vardalos’s life all ruined but nope it’s about Greece that she was in.  I needed a funny and non-thinking movie tonight – so I chose to watch her since My Big Fat Greek Wedding was kinda funny.  Anyhow – what i don’t understand was – HOW COULD SHE NOT NOTICE THE BUS DRIVER!!!!  Richard Dreyfuss !!!  Crazy not?   A pretty good show if you asked me – I would definitely watch it with a boyfriend – not so much the spouse though and a good girlfriend.

Georgia (Nia Vardalos) has lost her kefi (Greek for “mojo”). Discouraged by her lack of direction in life, she works as a travel guide, leading a rag-tag group of tourists as she tries to show them the beauty of her native Greece. While opening their eyes to an exotic foreign land, she too

sunshinecleaning

Rose is the main character of this show – i had hope it would be a lot more lighter than this but it was pretty gloomy stuff – whereby Rose a single mom raising a kid – and then getting involved with her high school sweetheart for the longest time and him being an ass – not at all planning to leave his wife but leading her on.

Trying to get her life together – Rose took up a cleaning job but not just any ordinary cleaning – but cleaning up of crime scene that can get really gruesome.  Things didn’t get any better because Rose who roped in her sister Norah to help with the cleaning job – burned down a house while Rose was out trying to proof to her high school friends that she was doing ok.  Didn’t look too good at all – at that time – and it’s a good watch and it does give someone hope when they are down.  So have fun and watch it.

A family. Rose and Norah, in Albuquerque, lost their mother when they were young. Rose is responsible – a housecleaner, raising her seven-year-old son Oscar. She’s also having an affair with Mac, a married cop, her high-school sweetheart. Norah can’t hold a job. Their dad, Joe, is quirky. When Oscar is expelled for odd behavior, Rose wants to earn enough to send him to private school. Mac suggests she clean up after crime scenes, suicides, and deaths that go undiscovered for awhile. Rose enlists Norah, and Sunshine Cleaners is born. Norah bonds with the dead, Rose finds out that it’s a regulated business, and complications arise. Can a family marked by tragedy sort things out?

couples_retreat

Just finished watching this movie last nite and it’s not a chick flick if you are wondering.  This is somewhat of a comedy centered around four couples who settle into a tropical-island resort for a vacation. While one of the couples is there to work on the marriage, the others fail to realize that participation in the resort’s therapy sessions is not optional.  Children can watch the show too but i can assure you that they will find it really boring – my kid fell asleep immediately.
