This isn’t a new show at all but while the spouse was looking for video cards, i happened to see this on sale in a local video store and bought this.  I was sure i’ve watched this before but since it was Steve Martin – i just had to watch it and collect it.  If you don’t know by now – I love Steve Martin – he is hilarious.

Anyhooo, the show was based on Steve Martin’s best-selling novella and it’s a chick flick for sure!!  like the show said Shop Girl is about a Shop Girl played by Claire Danes from The Family Stone who is also an aspiring artist working behind a glove counter at a Beverly Hills shopping mall.  Meeting 2 guys from different back ground – Shop Girl needs to choose between two guys.   For me – it’s an easy choice – what about you?  The rich older fella or the Jeremy Schwartzmann who don’t seem to have a proper career but young and good looking. If you haven’t watched the show – go ahead and rent one or like myself buy it for $5 – can’t go wrong with just a $5 movie right?

For my best friend’s baby shower invitations we decided to watch The Book Of Eli first and then sit at Starbucks with a few of my best buddies to do the invitations.  The Book Of Eli was a very popular movie – judging from the full house cinema that we went into a few months ago.  So when it came out on DVD last week, i rented it to watch it again.

Denzel Washington was the draw for me in this movie – what about you? This movie is a violent movie and not suitable for kids below 14 in my humble opinion.  Eli played by Denzel Washington apparently seems invincible and welds the knife well and can chop peoples hand or heads out in one stroke – is a drifter  traveling in the West – searching for something and holding the bible that a powerful mobster want.  Although the powerful mobster managed to get his hands on the bible he was unable to open it as he did not have the key from Eli.   It’s a watchable movie and like i said a violent one – so be prepared – interesting movie.

Remember Me by Robert Pattinson from the fame of  New Moon and Twilight would rent well for any video store because of Robert Pattinson.  Those who loves New Moon and Twilight would definitely flock to see this show.  But it wasn’t what i expected as i watched it on the flight for my vacation in Orlando .  I was kind of disappointed because I figured it would be a show more about the girl whose mother got shot in the train station when she was about 10 or 12 yrs old.  But nope – this was more a romantic movie of some young couple that ended quite tragically with the 9/11 event.

Tyler Hawkins played by Robert has a very strained relationship with his father Charles Hawkins played by Pierce Bronson.   Tyler met Ally – the girl whose mother was shot right in front of her – got involved with her because her father who was a cop – roughed him up some – to get revenge.  Turned out he fell in love with Ally and turned his life around after many events together.  And while you think that things were going well, Bam!  tragedy happens. Not that a good watch but I’ve seen worst – so yes – i you like Robert Pattinson sure go right ahead and as for Pierce Bronson – he appeared in some scenes but not a major part of the show.

Truth be told, I’m not such a huge fan of Matt Damon like I am not a huge fan of  treatment of hemorrhoids even though all my friends – be it woman or man – they all loved him.  But like treatment of hemorrhoids, it’s a necessity and it can get pretty good.  The poster above must have been photoshopped – haha! because Matt Damon didn’t look this good in the movie but his performance, I must say is pretty good – can’t complain.  And before I go on anymore – this is a must watch movie, it may even give you an insight of the Bush’s administration during the Iraqi war after 9/11. I don’t know how much truth there is in the movie but it sure made a lot of sense to me -  why the Weapon of Mass Destruction was never found even though that was the reason why US went to war with Iraq and had the whole world behind him.  Because of what Bush did – the economy of the entire world never recovered fully.  Till today, we haven’t seen the US Dollar rebound to its previous value.

Anyhow, Matt Damon plays Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller who was pretty persistent to find out the truth when the so called intelligence came up with a null each time – he and his men were sent out to find them.  CIA operative and a veteran in the Iraqi field confirmed that there were no such weapons and sent Miller on a chase for the truth.   The overall show was a eye opener and right in the middle of the show – i came to realize the truth of why Bush insisted that there were Mass Weapon of Destruction and never did find any and the war ended as abruptly as it started.  Darn good show in my opinion, so don’t miss it.

I’m sure you know that this is a chick flick but like you all know I love chick flicks – so don’t hate me now.  But one consolation – this chick flick was pretty good.  So i stopped my diet supplement reviews and watched this show instead – but i had only planned to watch like half at first.

Unfortunately, this show wasn’t really filmed in Rome – i don’t think anyways.  Kristen Bell plays Beth – who works as a curator and don’t have much luck with love and a very mean boss – played by Anjelica Houston.  Anyhow, while Beth is dying for a new love – her sister Joan played by cute Alexis Dziena is getting married to some in Rome! and wants her to attend it, while she was right in the middle of a big event.

So she went of course and during the wedding, she did something crazy to mess up some legend and have 4 men going after her but she is only in love with Nick. And in my opinion, how can one fall in love so quick right?  So she thinks that Nick is under a spell like the rest of the guys because of what she did in the love fountain in Rome.  So go ahead and watch the show, it’s light, not too unbelievable and all for fun.

Gonna watch this movie – on Tuesday – before it stops showing in the theaters – heard a lot of  good review about it – a being a real die hard fan for the show – how can i miss it right?

I finally had a chance to watch Sex and the City 2 over the weekend. As a long time SATC fan, I love the movie. As a wife, I love the movie even more. Yet the scene that moved me the most was actually about motherhood – when Charlotte and Miranda bonded over motherhood – through cocktails! I thought the lines for that scene was beautifully written. As a loyal fan, I am happy to see how SATC had matured. Well done, Michael Patrick King!

I don’t even know why I didn’t watch this any earlier – because we’ve had this movie for a long time now. Sigourney Weaver is in this movie and she usually doesn’t disappoint no matter what kind of movie she is in.  Story revolves around a mother who was with her daughter – 3 years old and she disappeared right in front of her.  She had just turned around for a second while in the park to pack up for home and she was gone – i can just imagine how panicky i would have been if it was I. I think this movie touched a very sentimental part deep down inside because I have a kid too around that age.

Of course, like any mother it was hard to get over the lost – not knowing and worrying about your child – is she dead? was she rape – so many things must have gone thru’ a mother’s mind.  Anyhow – this show fast forward 15 yrs later – showing the son getting married and Sigourney Weaver still not being able to get on with her life and suddenly a girl appear and fit the description of her long lost daughter – Maggie.

A very good show and everyone can and should watch it and not take things too likely and let your children out of sight for a minute.

Truth be told – i usually won’t watch nerdy shows like this one – i mean look at how nerdy the guy looked right?   I don’t recognise Molly (Alice Eve)  nor Kirkie (Jay Baruchel) in the show – but the storyline wasn’t too, too believable – because dear Kirkie may be nice but he definitely doesn’t have the looks nor the money.  So for such a hot gal, smart and rich gal to fall for the likes of Kirkie – well highly unlikely in real life.

But in this show- Kirkie seems to win the perfect woman that everyone wants and the only thing keeping him away from this Perfect 10 was his low self esteem – and the only “flaw” Molly had was her webby toes – which was kinda kooky – but overall – it was an ok show to watch – kinda funny – kinda gross and kinda gives the average guy some hope in this imperfect world.  So go right ahead and get the DVD  – it will be worth your money for sure.

When Gillian has to go out of town Bob offers to take care of the kids while she’s away, which proves to be no easy task. At the same time, Poldark somehow escapes. It’s apparent that some in the Agency helped him. At the same time Colton one of Bob’s associates at the CIA asks him to look at something that Poldark had on him that appears to encrypted, hoping he can crack it.When the children break into his home to see what they can find out about him, they find the file and download it. And when they try to open it, Poldark tracks it down and sends his people to take care of Ho. Bob manages to deal with them and then takes the children and goes on the run.

Meg Ryan was the only reason i even looked at this movie – apparently it was from 2009 – so it isn’t new, new if you know what i meant.   But it turned out to be pretty hilarious and a funny ending to the show.

Louise (Meg Ryan), a high-powered Manhattan lawyer, is touched when she arrives for the weekend to her family’s upstate getaway to find it strewn with rose petals by her husband of 13 years, Ian (Timothy Hutton). Unfortunately . . . Ian is not expecting Louise, rather his much younger girlfriend (Kristen Bell). In fact, he’s actually in the process of writing Louise a letter explaining his intention to leave her for good. An oddly cool Louise has other plans. She takes Ian captive, refusing to release him until he commits to working on their marriage together. When Ian’s impatient mistress shows up, not to mention an opportunistic gardener (Justin Long), things start to get seriously complicated. Not merely a war of the sexes, SERIOUS MOONLIGHT is a story of a war of the wills as Ian tries to talk his way out of the situation.
