You never know what you can learn on tv – my grandmother used to say – and she didn’t like us anywhere near the tv I remembered when she was babysitting us.  But it was thru’ the show Pawn Stars that I found out about patina – and about vintage looking things – and its value.  So whenever I go on Etsy and see something like this vintage pewter sugar bowl and creamer – I cannot helped but looked at it more closely.  So when parents blame their kid’s friends when their child does something bad – well – we can be wrong on that – because it isn’t the friend’s fault or the company he keeps – it’s the individual kid – who wants to be influence – the good way or the bad – just like the tv shows we watched.  We all loved our kids – and we find it so much easier to blame other people ‘s kid for our own’s wrong doing – but really – is it fair?  Nah ! i don’t think so – if your kid wants to smoke and take drugs – he or she chose to – not because of the another person – no one can force anyone to do anything he or she doesn’t want.

Fans of survivor – the show – like my extended family will be glad to know that the South Pacific series starts in September this year.  I’ve watched a few seasons of it – but stopped after a bit – but the extended family of ours kept at it religiously – they even have it recorded to watch it when they are away for holidays.  I heard that this season will have a lot of different things in store – and the ladies are dressed up in  camo panties in one show – now that is to be watched out for.  2 casts members are returning in this season – and lets hope it isn’t like the twist they had during the last season Redemption island.  But I’m sure you will be enjoying some really awesome things in South Pacific series at the end of September.

I started watching Rookie Blues not too long ago – and already it is in Season 2 – but currently am up to date with the show – and for those of you who are not familiar with Rookie Blue – you should watch it – it’s an excellent tv show.  Not only did I learn a lot about what cops do – I also learned about the many things they are knowledgeable about – from the law, to picking locks and doors and even  atv winches for checking out vehicles that are in accident or impounded.  So for those of you who thinks that the men and ladies in blue are pretty useless – you should watch this and amazed yourself with how skilled they actually are – and how dangerous their job can get too.  Charlotte Sullivan who plays Gail Peck is by far the prettiest amount the lot – but the show focus on Andy McNally played by Missy Peregrym – who looks a bit like Hilary Swank and for the Canadians out there – you should be proud of Missy Peregrym – because she was born in Montreal Quebec.  And the guys in the show – that I liked most is Ben Bass who plays Sam Swarek – although Callahan used to be my favorite – he no longer is – for he cheated on McNally – I hate cheaters.  Anyhow – check out this awesome tv show yourself.

I’m sure this scene is pretty familiar with everyone – now, now don’t deny it – it’s pretty common with my kids – they are either sitting in front of the computer while eating or the tv – we rarely have a meal together all because we don’t have a tv in the dining room.    So what do we do ?  we bought a tv bracket and mounted a tv in the dining room – so that we can all  have dinner together everyday – no excuse.   Some of you might wag your fingers at us – but if we can get the kids to use the dining room during eating times – especially when they have friends over – it was the best investment we ever made.  So if you have kids like mine – consider seriously about getting a tv bracket and mount your tv onto the wall – so that they will eat together with you.

I was reading up on panic/anxiety attacks and found that I am not the only one suffering from it – even Donny Osmond had panic attacks once upon a time and was able to overcome it.  I too started my panic attacks only after having kids – and I know that one can get help from anxiety drug treatment centers for such illness.  A lot of celebrities also have panic/anxiety disorder – so I am not alone and I don’t feel like I am a freak now – I used to.   I grew up watching the Donny & Maria shows in the 70s and never would I have thought that Donny Osmond had the same problem – after all, they siblings looked like they were from the perfect family and all – but I guess during those days – you don’t go openly tell people about it.  Lucky for me, in this time and age – people don’t think you are going crazy just because you have a panic attack – and there is help – from seeing a psychologist and taking medication – both which I am doing right now – to a treatment center that specializes in cases like that.  I’m just glad that I seek treatment too – else I think my family would have suffered a long with me.

So it’s the end of Desperate Housewives Season 7 today  and they had 2 episodes on Sunday – I really enjoyed it – for I spent my whole evening watching it – while the kids and their dad played games on the PS3.  It was a sad ending for the finale tonight – Lynette and husband Tom decided to separate after having 5 kids and why the change of heart?  all because Tom now have a more powerful job and makes more money ? or was it because Lynette wasn’t happy for him enough? it’s sad – I’ve always liked Tom.  And Gabrielle had to face her rapist – her stepfather who came looking for her after so many years – she thought he was dead.  How dare that freak right?  Not really a happy ending if you asked me – but that only means more season for Desperate Housewives.

New show that we came across recently – and started watching Season 1 of it.  Police sketch artist Jim Powell,  scientist Stephanie Powell  and their two high school kids JJ  and Daphne (Kay Panabaker) take a trip down to South America to try and reconnect as a family. Well, things don’t turn out as a planned and a storm brings down their plane in the Amazon River, which has apparently been laced with some mysterious substance that gives the Powell’s super powers. It’s as straightforward an origin story as you’re going to get. The real story here is how the Powells learn to cope with their powers while finding time to be together as a family.  Not a bad family sitcom at all – you should check it out yourself.

Being a huge fan of Melissa McCarthy, I thought I would check this show out even though I hadn’t really seen any previews for it. (I don’t watch a lot on CBS) Seriously…it was hilarious. Especially for a Pilot episode when there is usually more back story and introductions than jokes and humor. I laughed out loud many times and found Billy Gardell, who I’m only familiar with from his work on “My Name Is Earl”, to be charming and funny. Swoosie Kurtz and Katy Mixon were also fun characters. There were definitely a lot of “fat jokes” throughout the show, but they were all light hearted and funny. It’s lovely to see a show where the main characters are overweight, and while not hating themselves for it, are trying to get healthy. I hope this show continues to bring the humor and showcase these two great lead actors!

Found a new tv show – and show far it is pretty good.  Two lawyers – one young and one slightly older but very savvy still – doing their bit to save the innocent and some not so – but looks like the boys are not into it just for money. It’s shot in Vegas – and you will see it is pretty elaborate the casting and the background.  You will love it – if you love a good fight and law shows. This new show is only in Season 1 and already in Episode 13 – do check it out.

After watching Medium for so long – I guess I never thought the show was going to end – so it came as a little surprised to me – when I saw the last episode – and realized that we ain’t going to see Allison Dupar no more or Joe or the 3 awesome kids.   I think I like the entire cast – even Allison’s boss.  It is sad – but every good thing need to come to an end right ?  but only 13 episodes – way too short – and I wasn’t really prepared for it.  And here is the last episode – if you haven’t watched it yet.
