Watched this in the movies with the kid – and it’s a good movie for the kids of course but it’s good for bonding with your kids and a family outing.   In the sequel, Dave sends Alvin, Simon, and Theodore off to school, saying “it’s good for them.” Little did he know, the Chipmunks feel like “Chipmunks Out of Water” because of all the (human) kids around. Meanwhile, Ian (after the loss of the Chipmunks dealt him a serious blow) is freed from jail and searches the world for animals who can sing and dance. He happens upon the Chipettes and cannot wait to make them famous and get revenge on the Chipmunks. Yes, do watch it now – if it is still on the movies playing – there were some kids that i know who were in the theater with us that had already watched it.

breaking-bad

Well, we didn’t have anything to watch, so we found Breaking Bad – 2 seasons of it and just done watching it.  It’s a drama about a high school chemistry teacher who’s suffering from the world’s worst case of mid-life crisis and becomes a criminal.

It started out as being a very dry and gloomy show – but it did turn out a lot better after the first few episodes.  What I don’t understand is how a high school teacher can become so evil – without any conscience whatsoever.   But it is a real eye opener for me.

extract

Truth be told – I had almost forgotten about this movie – almost feels like a low budget movie .. if you asked me.  But it’s not a bad movie – so do give it a go – if  you come acoss this movie.  Joel, the owner of an extract manufacturing plant, constantly finds himself in precarious situations that steadily worsen by the minute. First, his soon-to-be floor manager acquires a serious injury in a machine malfunctioning accident that subsequently endangers the wellbeing of his company. Finally, compounding these catastrophes is new employee Cindy, who happens to be a scam artist intent on milking the company for all its worth. Now, Joel must attempt to piece his company and his marriage back together all while trying to figure out what he’s really after in life.

Just watched this show – and it’s almost like it’s set in the 70s and so cowboyish but not the riding horse type.  It’s about these brothers who are con artist and it’s almost a dreary show.  So confusing at times – an ok watch – i think more for the boys – then us gals.

Brothers – older Stephen and three years junior Bloom – have been con artists since they were kids. Stephen is the mastermind, for who the intricacy of the story used in the con is as important as the positive outcome of the swindle. Bloom is the main character of Stephen’s stories, the character he considers the anti-hero. As adults, they travel the world and never enlist the same people twice in their cons, except for their consistent sidekick, the mysterious and primarily silent Bang Bang, a Japanese woman who just appeared in their lives one day and who has a penchant for blowing things up. As Bloom hits his mid-thirties, he wants to quit the business as he is losing his own identity to that of the characters he portrays; he doesn’t know anymore what is real and what is make-believe. Stephen talks him into one last con, the mark to be the eccentric, lonely but beautiful New Jersey heiress, Penelope Stamp. Penelope’s primary past-time in life is to, as she calls it, “borrow hobbies”: when she sees something she likes, she learns how to do it solely through reading books. As the brothers go through their final con on Penelope, three main problems may occur to thwart the plan. First, the brothers’ former mentor and now arch enemy, Diamond Dog, may exact his long awaited revenge on the brothers. Second, Penelope may end up being more unpredictable than all their former marks. And third, Bloom, who has let love slip by in his life, may fall for Penelope. But through the process, no one ever really knows who is conning who

finding

Matthew Broderick who also happens to be Sarah Jessica Parker’s husband is the main actor in this show.  Don’t know what SJP saw in him.  He now looks like the typical middle age man with a fat belly that he was trying so hard to hide.. hahah!  Was it a good show..?? well, i’ve seen worst.. and if you have nothing to watch.. you can.. but it’s pretty lame.

Taylor Mendon is a Hollywood scriptwriter on a minor rebound from drugs and booze. He’s writing for a mirthless sit-com and betting on the horses behind his wife’s back when her sister calls needing help: Taylor’s 20-year-old niece Amanda has become a hooker in Las Vegas. He promises to find her, bring her back, and pay for her stay at an expensive rehab center. Once in Nevada, Taylor starts gambling in earnest using money loaned him by the casino. He also finds Taylor, a cheerful prostitute, uninterested in reform. Can Taylor win back his borrowings, keep his wife from discovering his habit, and help Amanda find redemption? Or is life different from a sit-com?

Very much like Da Vinci Code – but since i love Tom Hank I had to see it right – and it turned out to be a pretty good movie – although some stuff i just can’t understand.. and I already knew the end of the story even before it ended – pretty predictable if you asked me.

After the death of the Pope, the conclave has gathered in a locked room to choose his successor among four cardinals named “preferitti”. However the quartet is abducted by the Illuminati, a secret brotherhood that was supposed extinct. The symbologist, Robert Langdon, and the scientist, Vittoria Vetra, who had her powerful and dangerous prototype of antimatter research stolen, are invited by the Vatican police to help them in their investigation. They are received by the receptive Camerlengo, Patrick McKenna, and by the reluctant Commander Richter. They are informed that the Illuminati have promised to kill each cardinal every hour from 8:00 PM and then explode the Vatican City with the antimatter. Robert and Vittoria have a few hours to unravel the clues and discover where the lethal weapon might be hidden.

hangover

More like a boys show .. but actually a couple’s movie – about a couple of guys having a bachelor’s party just before one got married.   Just two days before his marriage with Tracy Garner, Doug Billings, in the company of two friends: Phil Wenneck and Stu Price; and Tracy’s eccentric brother, Alan, head out to party in Vegas. Driving his father’s Mercedez, they rent a pricey villa at Caesar’s and head for the rooftop to have a good time. Three of them later wake up with a hangover, unable to re-collect what exactly happened. With the villa in a wreck, turned upside down, they find that they have a baby in the closet, a grown tiger in the bathroom, Stu has a missing tooth and a hooker for a bride, and Doug is missing. Hilarious chaos results as the trio head out to re-trace their steps, find out that occurred in order to try and locate Doug, and bring him home in one piece before the wedding.

If you think that this is a romantic show or even a chick flick then you are wrong .. hahhaha!  This is more like a thriller and definitely a can watch but not really a must watch.

Honeymooning couple Cliff (Steve Zahn) and Cydney (Milla Jovovich) is hiking an eleven-mile trail in Hawaii when they cross paths will ex-military man Nick (Timothy Olyphant), who earns their trust by helping them navigate a particularly treacherous mountain cliff. A few yards later, the trio runs into a group of girls whose parents are begging them to return home following reports that a honeymooning couple has been murdered on one of the other islands. The suspects in the killings are a young white couple, and when Cliff and Cydney meet Nick’s frees-spirited girlfriend Gina (Kiele Sanchez), tensions start to rise. The further the foursome walk together, the more delicate the balance of trust and suspicion becomes.

duplicity_2

Julia Roberts is a must watch right..??  yes.. ! i’m a sucker for big names .. like hers.  A pair of corporate spies who share a steamy past hook up to pull off the ultimate con job on their respective bosses.  Ray works for MI6, Claire for the CIA. She burns him in Dubai. Jump ahead five years: he sees her in Grand Central and confronts her. Both now work in industrial security for corporate giants whose CEOs hate each other. Flashbacks fill us in: is it coincidence that he sees her in Grand Central? In about a week, one of the firms is going to announce a revolutionary product. Under the guise of helping that corporation’s rival, can Ray and Claire work their own theft and find an independent buyer? To work together, using the corporate rivalry to their advantage, they would have to trust one another – difficult, if not impossible. Or, is one playing the other?

Low budget movie which i thought was a real story but at the end of the movie found out that it was like Blair Witch – but given the quality of the show – i must say that i was fooled really good in the beginning.  I wouldn’t recommend this even to my enemies .. hahha!!  They make it sound like it was really scarey .. but actually it wasn’t.  We were more like curious .. other than that.. it was mediocre acting – the cops took 20mins to arrive and  it was really not good acting at all.

After a young, middle class couple moves into what seems like a typical suburban “starter” tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night.  Especially when they sleep. Or try to.
